Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you give us when you create an account and use Plentish, such as your name and email address, your household's content, receipts you scan, commands you give, and messages or problem reports you send us, including any screenshot you choose to attach. We also collect limited technical information, such as your IP address and device and browser details.
2. How We Use It
We use your information to provide, secure, support and improve Plentish. With your separate permission, we may keep additional information to investigate a problem. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
3. Automated and AI-Assisted Features
Some features, such as receipt scanning and voice commands, use automated processing, including AI services provided by our service providers, to read and interpret what you submit. No inventory or shopping changes are made until you review and confirm them. Spoken commands are converted to text by your browser under its own terms; Plentish receives only the text.
4. Service Providers and Where Data Is Processed
We share information with service providers that help us run Plentish, such as hosting, storage, email, security, error monitoring, mapping, website analytics and AI services, only as needed for them to provide those services. Your information is stored and processed outside Canada, including in the United States, and may be accessible to authorities there under local law.
Our public website, the pages that introduce Plentish outside the app, and the app's sign-in, sign-up, invitation, email-check and password-reset pages count visits with website analytics from our hosting provider. For each page view it records the time, the page address without any query string, the referring address your browser reports, an approximate location (country, region and city), and the browser, operating system and device type. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. A visit is recognized by a short-lived identifier derived from the request, including your IP address; the identifier is discarded after 24 hours, and your IP address is not kept with the records, so we see totals rather than individual visitors. We can view these totals for one month. These analytics never run on onboarding or on any page you use inside your household.
5. Staff Access
Authorized staff may access your information to support you and operate the service. Access to household content is limited and recorded. We keep records of administrative actions for security and accountability.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service; some information is deleted sooner. You can delete your account yourself in Settings, under Account, or ask us to delete your information. Deleting your account removes your login, sign-in methods and personal details, most of it straight away and the rest, such as bug reports you sent, shortly after. Items, receipts and plans you added belong to your household and stay with it, shown as added by "Deleted user". If you were your household's only member, or chose to delete it for everyone, the household and its data are deleted too. Whatever is left is deleted within 30 days, with one exception: records of administrative actions are kept for accountability.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the service working. We do not use advertising cookies.
9. Your Rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw a consent you gave, subject to legal limits. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the privacy regulator where you live.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new version here with its date.
